Wat is een Aspergersyndroom?
Het syndroom van Asperger, vaak ‘afgekort’ tot Asperger, is een van de vormen van autisme. Heb je het syndroom van Asperger, dan kun je goed praten en goed leren. Jouw intelligentie is normaal of zelfs bovengemiddeld. Taalontwikkeling en –begrip zijn normaal, net als de zelfredzaamheid.
Hebben autisten tics?
Andere problemen zijn ongeremdheid/hyperactief gedrag en agressiviteit. Somberheid zie je ook vaak bij mensen met klassieke autisme, als ook tics of dwangmatig gedrag. Slaapproblemen en epilepsie zijn ook niet ongewoon. In sommige gevallen is er ook sprake van een verstandelijke beperking.
