Hoe werkt het EK?
Voor de EK kwalificatiereeks van EK 2021 hebben alle 55 UEFA landen zich ingeschreven. Deze landen zijn verdeeld over 10 groepen (5 groepen van 5 landen en 5 groepen van 6 landen). Bij de loting worden alle landen geplaatst op basis van hun prestaties tijdens de UEFA Nations League 2018-19.

De zestien groepswinnaars spelen in juni de halve finale en finale van de Nations League. De laatste in de groep zakt naar een lager niveau. Ook deze halve finale en finale vindt plaats per niveau. De 4 winnaars van de Nations League plaatsen zich telkens voor het Europees Kampioenschap.
