Wat is spoelen van de longen?
Bij een longspoeling spuit de longarts via een slangetje in uw luchtweg (bronchoscoop) vloeistof in uw long en zuigt deze er direct weer uit. Het spoelvocht bevat belangrijke informatie over uw longen. De vloeistof wordt in het laboratorium onderzocht.
Hoe doen ze een Longpunctie?
Met een longpunctie zuigt de longarts met een holle naald enig vocht of weefsel uit uw long. Het laboratorium onderzoekt dit vocht of weefsel op afwijkende cellen, bacteriën, eiwitten en dergelijke.
Waarom worden longen gespoeld?
Kan uw lichaam onvoldoende zuurstof opnemen, dan is een spoeling een optie. Bij een hele longlavage wordt per keer een long schoongespoeld. Voor deze ingreep wordt u een aantal dagen in het ziekenhuis opgenomen. De behandeling vindt plaats op de operatiekamer, onder narcose.

The risks of BAL are defined by the bronchoscopy procedure itself, since BAL does not add any significant risk to the procedure. Standard recovery procedures from conscious-sedation anesthesia are followed, when applicable, and most complications are recognized during the immediate preoperative period.
