Wat doet een Roustabout?
De werkzaamheden van de General Roustabout zijn erg divers. Op het boorplatform worden door de General Roustabout meestal zware werkzaamheden verricht. Het tillen en verplaatsen van gereedschappen en andere objecten. Daarnaast ook opruimen van het platform en de daarop aanwezige werkplekken.

Wat verdien je op een boorplatform?
Als engineer kun je bij het werken op een booreiland een salaris verdienen van 42.500 euro. Dit kan oplopen tot een bedrag van 66.500 euro en hoger per jaar, dit hangt af van de functie, je ervaring en je opleiding. Senior functies kunnen de engineer zomaar 147.600 euro per jaar opleveren.
Hoe lang zit je op een booreiland?
Als medewerker op een booreiland ben je gemiddeld twee tot vier weken van huis, om vervolgens twee tot vier weken thuis te zijn.

Roughneck is a slang term for a person whose occupation is hard-manual labour, typically in a dangerous working environment. The term applies across a number of industries, but is most commonly associated with oil rigs.
What does a roughneck do on a drilling rig?
A floor hand, or member of the drilling crew who works under the direction of the driller to make or break connections as drillpipe is tripped in or out of the hole. On most drilling rigs, roughnecks are also responsible for maintaining and repairing much of the equipment found on the drill floor and derrick.
