Welke ALAT waarde is schadelijk?
Een sterk verhoogde ALAT enzymactiviteit (meer dan 15x hoger dan normaal) wordt bijna altijd veroorzaakt door acute leverontsteking (acute hepatitis). Deze vorm van hepatitis wordt meestal veroorzaakt door een virusinfectie.
