Wat zit er in Dupixent?
De werkzame stof in dit middel is dupilumab. Elke voorgevulde spuit bevat 300mg dupilumab in een oplossing van 2 ml voor injectie (injectie). De andere stoffen in dit middel zijn L-argininehydrochloride, L-histidine, polysorbaat 80, natriumacetaat, azijnzuur, sucrose, water voor injecties.
Welke Interleukines worden geremd door Dupilumab?
Dupilumab is een humaan monoklonaal antilichaam dat specifiek bindt aan de interleukine-4-receptor alfa, waardoor de Th2-cytokines interleukine 4 (IL4) en interleukine 13 (IL13) worden geremd. IL4 en IL13 spelen een belangrijke rol in het ontstekingsmechanisme bij atopisch eczeem en bij astma.
What should I know about Dupixent before taking it?
Parasitic infections: if you have any parasitic infections such as tapeworm, it needs to be treated before starting Dupixent. If you develop a parasitic infection while taking Dupixent, you can be treated with medication while taking it.
What is the recommended dose of Dupixent for adults?
The recommended dose of Dupixent for adult patients is an initial dose of 600 mg (two 300 mg injections), followed by 300 mg given every other week. The recommended dose of Dupixent for patients 12 to 17 years of age is specified in Table 1.
What is the age limit for Dupixent?
For moderate to severe eczema, Dupixent is approved for use in children ages 6 years and older. For moderate to severe asthma, Dupixent is approved for use in children ages 12 years and older. Dupixent is given as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin).

There are 2 disease interactions with Dupixent (dupilumab): Patients requiring non-live vaccination during a course of therapy with interleukin inhibitors may not be protected from the vaccine as the immune response might not be sufficient to prevent the disease.
