Is Persantin nog verkrijgbaar?
De fabrikant van Persantin ® stopt met het leveren van Persantin ® 200 mg, 150mg en Asasantin Retard. Dit besluit is twee jaar geleden genomen, met het oog op de komst van generieke middelen. Helaas is er vooralsnog geen nieuwe fabrikant die het generieke dipyridamol in productie zal nemen.
Hoe werkt dipyridamol?
Dipyridamol is een antistollingsmiddel. Het gaat de vorming van bloedstolsels in de bloedvaten tegen. Artsen schrijven dipyridamol voor om trombose te voorkomen, bijvoorbeeld na hartklepoperaties, na een beroerte (herseninfarct) of na een TIA (lichte beroerte).
Waar is Persantin voor?
Het remt de vorming van bloedstolsels, zodat de bloedvaten niet opnieuw verstopt kunnen raken. Meestal schrijft de arts, samen met dipyridamol, ook acetylsalicylzuur of carbasalaatcalcium voor. Dit zijn ook medicijnen die bloedstolling tegengaan. Van de werking van dipyridamol merkt u zelf niets.

What should I know before taking Aggrenox?
Swallow the capsule whole. Aggrenox may cause headaches when you first start taking it. Call your doctor at if these headaches are severe. This medicine can make it easier for you to bleed, even from a minor injury such as a fall or a bump on the head.
