Parkour stamt af van een ontsnappingstechniek uit de Vietnamoorlog. Het was een methode van de Franse marineofficier Georges Hébert om zijn rekruten zo te trainen dat ze op elke situatie voorbereid waren. Een van Héberts rekruten was de Franse turner Raymond Belle.
Wat moet je doen bij freerunnen?
Freerunnen is de kunst van meningsuiting door middel van bewegen. De loper, runner of ook wel traceur, doet een poging om statische obstakels op de snelst mogelijke en meest directe manier te nemen. Met behulp van vaardigheden als Springen, Draaien, Flippen, Klimmen en Voltige.

What is freerunning?
Freerunning is an athletic and acrobatic discipline incorporating an aesthetic element, and can be considered either a sport or a performance art, or both. Freerunning is similar to parkour, from which it is derived, but emphasizes artistry over efficiency and speed.

Performing some form of Calisthenics & a bit of weight training goes a long way. Look online for other free runners in your area to train with. Do a quick search on freerunning in your country or state. If you train with an experienced free runner they should be able to guide you and give safety advice.
