Wat is Spierinvasief?
Spierinvasief. Als de tumor in de blaaswandspier is ingegroeid, is er sprake van een spierinvasieve blaaskanker. Omdat bij spierinvasieve blaastumoren de tumor al in de diepere lagen van de blaaswand is ingegroeid, wordt de kans groter dat er kankercellen losraken die zich vervolgens in het lichaam verspreiden.
Wat is invasief Urotheelcelcarcinoom?
Blaaskanker ontstaat in meer dan 90% van de patiënten met blaaskanker uit het slijmvlies van de blaas. Dit slijmvlies heet urotheel. Blaaskanker wat hieruit ontstaat noemen we daarom urotheelcelcarcinoom (UCC).
Wat is Ostium urologie?
De ureteren transporteren de urine naar de blaas door in een golfbeweging samen te trekken (peristaltiek). De ureteren monden beiderzijds schuin onder in de blaas uit. Centraal in de bodem van de blaas zit een opening die het begin van de plasbuis of urethra is. Dit is te vergelijken met de afvoer van een wastafel.
