Wat doet een CPAP masker?
Om uw keel open te houden en zuurstoftekort te voorkomen blaast het masker lucht in uw neus en/of keel via een slang die verbonden is met een CPAP-apparaat. U zet het masker elke nacht op en gebruikt deze ook als u overdag slaapt.
Hoe snel resultaat CPAP?
Met deze therapie worden goede resultaten bereikt: patiënten hebben minder of nagenoeg geen apneus meer, snurken niet, slapen rustiger en voelen zich minder slaperig of vermoeid overdag. Deze verbeteringen zult u over het algemeen niet direct na de start met de CPAP therapie ervaren.
Hoe lang duurt wennen aan CPAP?
Deze duurt ongeveer drie weken. In deze periode stellen we samen met u het apparaat in op een automatische of vaste stand. Als u het apparaat een week heeft gebruikt, lezen we het apparaat uit en bepalen we of de ingestelde druk effectief is.
