Hoeveel special forces zijn er in Nederland?
In Nederland kennen we echter maar twee Special Forces-eenheden: het Korps Commandotroepen (KCT), welk onderdeel is van de Koninklijke Landmacht, en de Maritime Special Operations Forces (MARSOF), welke vallen onder het Korps Mariniers.
Wat is sof support?
Ondersteuning van eenheden aan de Commandotroepencompagnieën is al jaren niet meer weg te denken. Deze ‘enablers’ staan vanuit hun vakgebied de Special Operations Forces (SOF) bij, zowel tijdens de gereedstelling als daadwerkelijke inzet. Veelal kwamen ze uit conventionele eenheden.
Hoe kom je bij sof support?
Het type ondersteuning en/of benodigde samenwerking is vooraf vaak moeilijk in te schatten en hangt af van de aard van de missie. In het meest ideale geval heeft de commandant van een speciale operatie de beschikking over een toolbox van specialisten die troops to task kunnen worden ingezet.

The warfighting arm of Navy Special Operations is comprised of the most elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units in the world. Navy EOD Technicians enable Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, and other expeditionary forces to meet objectives around the globe by clearing explosive hazards in any environment on land or water.
How can SOF support training help EOD Soldiers prepare for deployment?
To better prepare EOD soldiers for the unique hazards of such deployments, seasoned team leaders and senior non-commissioned officers within the 71st Ordnance Group have designed a new and highly specialized SOF Support Training (SST) program that brings lessons learned in combat directly to soldiers preparing to deploy.
What kind of training do EOD techs in special operations get?
For many years, formalized training for EOD techs serving in special operations was hard to come by in the Army. So EOD teams sometimes had to learn techniques specific to special operations either while already overseas or during what’s called Pre-Mission Training (PMT), when ODAs and their combat enablers train together just prior to deployment.
