Hoe word een elektromotor gekoeld?
Geheel gesloten elektromotoren (TEFC) zijn doorgaans luchtgekoeld door een luchtstroom en daartoe voorzien van een externe koelwaaier die op de motoras is gemonteerd of separaat wordt aangedreven. Ook is het mogelijk, dat de gehele elektromotor zonder koelwaaier (TEAO), in een luchtstroom staat.

Hoe wordt een motor gekoeld?
Een koelsysteem werkt door een koelvloeistof door doorgangen in het motorblok en de cilinderkop te sturen. Terwijl het koelmiddel door deze doorgangen stroomt, neemt het de warmte van de motor op. De verwarmde vloeistof baant zich dan een weg door een rubberen slang naar de radiator aan de voorkant van de auto.
Hoe koelt een motor?
De taak van koelvloeistof is natuurlijk het koelen van de motor, zodat deze op de juiste temperatuur blijft. Het middel wordt rondgepompt binnen het koelsysteem. Het neemt hier de hitte van de motordelen op, die vervolgens via de radiateur naar buiten kunnen. Dit proces wordt eindeloos herhaald.
