Hoe lang leeft een forel?
Ze leven 2-4jaar in zoetwater. Dan gaan ze naar de Stille Oceaan en blijven ongeveer 3 jaar bij de kust. Hij is 1 van de weinige forellen die warme temperaturen kunnen verdragen. Na 3 jaar kunnen ze paaien (paren).

Hoe graten uit forel halen?
Gebruik altijd een vlijmscherp mes. Houd de vis aan de kop vast met je linkerhand met de rug naar je toe. Maak langs de kieuw een insnede naar de kop toe en draai je mes een kwartslag, houd het mes bijna horizontaal en goed met de zijkant op de graat.
