Heeft Japan stranden?
Japan biedt een ongekend groot aantal schitterende, tropische stranden waar je kunt duiken, snorkelen, kayakken, surfen. Of gewoon in je hangmat sake drinken. Je vindt de stranden Japan ook overal, op slechts drie uur rijden van Tokyo of juist op de meest afgelegen gebieden.
Is Japan tropisch?
Japan staat niet zozeer bekend om zijn tropische eilanden. Voor een strandvakantie gaan mensen eerder richting Indonesië, Thailand of Maleisië. Toch hoef je Japan niet te verlaten als je wil genieten van een heerlijk weekje aan het strand en snorkelen in turquoise water.

The straight-line distance is about 106.6 kilometers (66.2 mi) from north to south. Okinawa is in the northeastern end of Okinawa Prefecture.
Why is Okinawa not part of Japan?
Okinawa Wasn’t Always Japanese The hundreds of islands that today make up Okinawa Prefecture — with Okinawa island being the largest of them — didn’t come under Japanese rule until the 19th century. Prior to that, the Ryukyu Kingdom was an independent dynasty that played a crucial role in building East Asian shipping networks.
Is Okinawa worth a visit?
Not all are on the main island, but that just means you’ll get to see more of this lesser-visited part of Japan (at least by foreign tourists – Okinawa is a hugely popular summer holiday destination for the Japanese)! The best thing about Okinawa is that it’s a year-round destination.
