Gaswisselingsorganen. Om zuurstof voor de verbranding uit het milieu te kunnen opnemen en om koolstofdioxide af te geven hebben de meeste organismen speciale gaswisselingsorganen. Om de opgenomen zuurstof door het lichaam te vervoeren hebben organisme een bloedvatenstelsel tot hun beschikking.
