Wat is gyrus?
Gyri = Een gyrus of hersenwinding is in de neuroanatomie een winding of verhoging in de sterk gevouwen hersenschors. Hij wordt afgewisseld met een of meerdere sulci, of groeven.

Een hersenwinding is in de neuroanatomie een verhoging in de sterk gevouwen hersenschors. Zij wordt afgewisseld met een of meer hersengroeven (sulci of fissurae). Een hersenkwab (lobus cerebri) bestaat uit meerdere afzonderlijke hersenwindingen.
Wat is de cingulate gyrus?
De gyrus cinguli of gordelwinding maakt deel uit van het limbische systeem van de hersenen. Hij loopt om de hersenbalk heen en bestaat uit twee delen, de gyrus cinguli anterior of voorste gordelwinding en de gyrus cinguli posterior of achterste gordelwinding.
Wat zijn sulci?
Gleuf, groef of spleet. Het meervoud is sulci.
What is the difference between medial and superior frontal gyrus?
Not to be confused with Middle frontal gyrus. Medial surface of left cerebral hemisphere. The superior frontal gyrus is situated above the superior frontal sulcus and is continued on to the medial surface of the hemisphere, the medial frontal gyrus. The medial and superior frontal gyri are two of the frontal gyri of the frontal lobe.
What is the border between the medial frontal gyrus and cingulate gyrus?
Bordering the medial frontal gyrus ventrally is the cingulate gyrus and its affiliated subcallosal extension. In a majority of cases, the paracingulate sulcus roughly defines the border between the frontal lobe and the cingulate cortex of the limbic lobe. Ventral to the paracingulate sulcus is the cingulate sulcus.
What are the sulci of the middle frontal gyrus?
The sulci of the middle frontal gyrus have generated a lot of confusion in the anatomical literature. In the anterior part of the middle frontal gyrus lies a deep sulcus that has been referred to as the middle frontal sulcus or the intermediate frontal sulcus.
