Wat doet een MX record?
Een MX record zorgt voor de afhandeling van inkomende e-mail voor het domein. Een MX record verwijs je altijd naar een hostname welke via een A record verwijst naar het IP-adres van een mailserver. Een MX record kan je voorzien van een extra waarde, namelijk Prioriteit (ook wel Preference genoemd).
Wat doet een Cname?
CNAME staat voor Canonical name. Met dit type record kun je een subdomein naar een ander (sub)domein wijzen. Een veelgebruikte toepassing van een CNAME-record is om de www versie van je domein (zoals www.voorbeeld.nl) te laten wijzen naar de website op je hoofddomein (zoals voorbeeld.nl).

What is the difference between CNAME and Alias Records?
ALIAS records ALIAS records are very similar to CNAME records. The main difference is that a single CNAME record can only reference a single domain name, whereas multiple ALIAS records can reference a single domain name at once.
How do you Resolve and update the alias record?
We resolve it as part of the secondary DNS setup process, then run a scheduled job to update the ALIAS record at secondary name servers by resolving them again, removing the old records, and writing the new records to our zone transfer database.
