Hoe werk een TLC?
Bij TLC heb je een stationaire (vaste) fase en een mobiele (vloeibare) fase. De stationaire fase is veelal een silicaplaatje (= polair). De mobiele fase is meestal een apolaire vloeistof. Bij TLC worden de te scheiden/identificeren componenten onderaan op het silicaplaatje gespot.
Is verf een suspensie?
Een suspensie bestaat uit een vaste stof in een vloeistof. Kleine, niet opgeloste, vaste deeltjes zweven als het ware in een vloeistof. Hierdoor valt het licht niet mooi door de vloeistof, waardoor een suspensie er troebel of gekleurd uitziet. Een voorbeeld is sinaasappelsap, verf of kalkpoeder in water (kalkwater).
Waar hangt retentietijd vanaf?
tR (totale retentietijd) is de tijd die verstreken wordt vanaf de monsterinjectie tot de detectie van het maximum van de piek. In ideale omstandigheden is de tR onafhankelijk van de kwantiteit van de ingespoten monster.
Wat betekent retentietijd?
Retentietijd is de tijd die een bepaalde stof uit een te scheiden mengsel nodig heeft om door een chromatografische kolom te passeren (elueren).
