Hoe maak ik zelf houtskool?
Hoe ontstaat houtskool Het is het verkolen van hout. Door hout te verhitten waarbij maar een beperkte hoeveelheid zuurstof wordt toegestaan wordt hout “ontleed”. Door de verhitting verdampt een groot deel van de vluchtige bestanddelen van hout. Wat overblijft noemen we houtskool.

Hoe worden houtskool briketten gemaakt?
Houtskool bestaat uit stukken gecarboniseerd hout en is snel aan te steken. Briketten zijn vermalen gecarboniseerd hout met een binder – een zetmeel – die vervolgens onder hoge druk gevormd worden naar compacte kussentjes.
