Wat is een Lipomateuze tumor?
Een lipoom is een goedaardige weke delen tumor die bestaat uit vetcellen. Lipomen komen vaak voor, en met name in het onderhuidse vetweefsel van de bovenarm, romp en nek, maar soms ook dieper gelegen zoals in of tussen spieren. Ze kunnen soms tot wel 15cm groot zijn.
Hoe voelt een onderhuidse tumor?
Een liposarcoom kan aanvoelen als een pijnloos bultje onder de huid dat soms wat hard is. Als je zo’n bultje voelt, kan het ook een goedaardig vetbultje zijn: een lipoom. Ga naar je huisarts als je het niet vertrouwt. Ook kun je een zwelling zien of pijn krijgen bij het bewegen.
Hoe groot wordt een lipoom?
Lipomen kunnen overal op of in het lichaam voorkomen waar vetcellen zitten. Vaak is er geen behandeling nodig voor een lipoom. Het lipoom wordt pas chirurgisch verwijderd wanneer het hinderlijk of pijnlijk is. Een lipoom groeit langzaam en kan variëren in grootte van enkele millimeters tot meer dan tien centimeter.

Is a malignant spindle cell tumor in the larynx a sarcoma?
