Waar staat MSDS voor?

Een material safety data sheet of veiligheidsinformatieblad is een document waarin de gevaren van een gevaarlijke stof of mengsel en adviezen voor het veilig ermee werken omschreven staan. Het msds bevat o.a. de eigenschappen van het product.

Wie maakt een MSDS?

Hoe oud mogen Msds bladen zijn?

Het is niet verplicht om veiligheidsinformatiebladen te bewaren maar het ligt wel voor de hand. Iedere fabrikant, importeur, downstream-gebruiker of distributeur is verplicht alle informatie die hij nodig heeft om aan de REACH-verplichtingen te voldoen tenminste 10 jaar dient te bewaren (Artikel 36 van REACH).

    • What is MSDS and why should you care?

    common names. Synonyms are often listed on MSDSs.

  • trade name. It does not specify what chemicals are in the product or whether the product is a mixture of chemicals or a single chemical.
  • generic name. Sometimes an MSDS will list only the generic name of a product,although in most countries laws require that chemical names also be listed.

    • What is MSDS chemical and what it used for?

    It was also used as a plasticizer in paints and especially “coal tars” that were used widely to coat water tanks, bridges and other infrastructure pieces. Modern sources include pigments, which may be used in inks for paper or plastic products.
