Waar maken steenmarters hun nest?
Steenmarters nestelen zich het liefst in oude schuurtjes of in holle bomen in je tuin. Behalve je planten en bomen gaan steenmarters soms nog achter ander voedsel aan. Als je bijvoorbeeld kippen in je tuin hebt, dan komen er steenmarters op de eieren af.
Wat eten steen marters?
Veel bomen en struiken krijgen in de zomer en het najaar vruchten en bessen. Daar maakt de steenmarter gretig gebruik van. Steenmarters lusten bijna alles wat aan bessen en fruit voorhanden is, als het maar rijp is. Zelfs bessen die voor ons giftig zijn, zoals die van zwarte nachtschade, worden gretig gegeten.
