Can I replace my SRAM crankset with a Shimano one?
Thankfully, there is still a ray of hope for those who want to substitute their bike’s SRAM crankset for one from a Shimano groupset as long as they have the same type of drivetrain. Drivetrains dictate your bike speed, so, to change your crankset, the new one must have the same transmission system as the previous one.
Will SRAM x0 cranks fit on an 11 speed MTB?
My GF’s MTB has SRAM X0 cranks and Truvative chainrings (i.e. SRAM), with Shimano XTR derailleur and Shimano cassette (not sure of the model). All of this is 10 speed – but I believe that it might not work as well with 11 speed.
What happened to SRAM cranks?
SRAM killed it with their compact 50×34 cranks + 12-32 and 11-32 cassettes. Took Shimano years to catch on and catch up, during which time my bikes were built only with SRAM.
