Hoe werkt een HemoCue?
Plaats de cuvet binnen 10 minuten in de houder. Tijdens de meting verschijnt een zandloper en drie stilliggende streepjes in het display. Na 15 – 60 seconden verschijnt de Hb waarde in het display. Bij een slechte doorbloeding de vinger eerst opwarmen.
Kan huisarts Hb meten?
In de meeste huisartsenpraktijken wordt de Hb-waarde gemeten met het HemoCue-apparaat, in bloed dat via een vingerprik is verkregen. Het principe is dat in de opvangmicrocuvet de Hb eerst door reeds aanwezige chemicaliën wordt omgezet in methemoglobinazide.
Hoe meet je Hb gehalte?
Hemoglobine kan worden gemeten in het bloed uit een vingerprik (capillair bloed) en in het bloed uit een ader (veneus bloed). De waarde van het hemoglobine is in veneus bloed gemiddeld wat lager dan in capillair bloed.
Hoe kan je je Hb meten?
Met een vingerprik kunnen we vaststellen of u bloedarmoede hebt. De meter kan dan in een halve minuut vaststellen of uw Hb te laag is. Mensen met een te laag Hb hebben bloedarmoede. Als uw Hb te laag is, zal de huisarts soms nog verder bloedonderzoek willen doen.
Hoe kun je Hb meten?
Met bloedonderzoek kan het Hb gemeten worden: Mannen hebben bloedarmoede als het Hb lager is dan 8,5 mmol/l. Vrouwen hebben bloedarmoede als het Hb lager is dan 7,5 mmol/l. Voor zwangeren en kinderen zijn er andere getallen.
