Hoe medicatie geven aan paard?
Er zijn simpelweg twee manieren om medicatie in poedervorm te verstrekken aan je paard, namelijk door het voer of direct in de mond. Het zou eventueel ook mogelijk zijn om de medicatie te mengen met drinkwater.
Is luzerne slecht voor paarden?
Luzerne is een gewas dat voor veel paarden (maar niet alle!) een geschikte aanvulling op het dagelijks rantsoen is. Het wordt veel gebruikt als vezelbron om door het krachtvoer te mengen. Hierdoor kauwen paarden beter op hun voer.

What are the dangers of alfalfa?
Alfalfa contains a high level of purines, a type of chemical compound found in foods and drinks that are part of a normal diet. People who have gout have a hard time metabolizing purines and should avoid alfalfa. If you are using oral contraceptives, be wary when ingesting alfalfa as it could lower the effectiveness of the birth control.
How does alfalfa interact with anticoagulants?
Anticoagulants, like Coumadin (warfarin), may be undermined by the high vitamin K content in alfalfa (which promotes clotting). Diabetes medications can be affected by alfalfa, causing a further drop in blood sugar and an increased risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
