Is groen gas groen?
Net als groene stroom wordt groen gas gecertificeerd geleverd. In Nederland geeft Vertogas de certificaten de GvO’s (Garantie van Oorsprong) uit. Vertogas controleert of het gas voldoet aan de gestelde eisen voor zo’n certificaat. Zo weet de afnemer zeker dat het groene gas ook echt groen is.
Waar bestaat groen gas uit?
Groen gas komt niet uit de grond zoals aardgas, maar wordt duurzaam geproduceerd. Groen gas wordt gemaakt van 100% natuurlijke grondstoffen, zoals mest, slib en gft-afval. Tijdens een proces van vergisting, zetten bacteriën deze grondstoffen om tot biogas. Dit biogas wordt gezuiverd, gedroogd en bewerkt tot groen gas.
Wat kost groen gas per liter?
CNG kost gemiddeld €1,64 per kilo, terwijl de huidige benzineprijs (februari 2022) €2,16 per liter is. Daar komt bij dat je met een kilo CNG meer kilometers kunt maken dan met een liter benzine. Grofweg ligt de prijs per kilometer voor CNG zo’n 50-75% lager dan bij benzine.

Bulb Energy is one of the largest green gas supplier in the UK. Its gas mix is made up of 10% green gas, all of which is produced from energy crops and food and farm waste. The rest is natural gas which is offset by support for and investment in carbon reduction projects. Bulb purchases 40% of all green gas in the UK green gas market.
