Waarom Waterecho?
De belangrijkste reden voor een waterecho is een verdenking op of een afwijking in de baarmoederholte. Bijvoorbeeld: Afwijkingen in de baarmoederholte, zoals myomen (vleesbomen) of poliepen. Deze veroorzaken soms afwijkend bloedverlies zoals hevige menstruaties of tussentijds bloedverlies.
Wat is een SIS echo?
Een andere naam voor watercontrastechoscopie is waterecho of SIS (de afkorting van saline infusion sonohysterography). Een SIS kan worden uitgevoerd bij abnormaal bloedverlies, bij vruchtbaarheidsproblemen of bij onderzoek naar de oorzaak van herhaalde miskramen.
Wat betekend Transvaginaal?

Sonohysterography is not done if you are or could be pregnant or if you have a pelvic infection. You may be given a urine test to rule out pregnancy before the procedure. You will be asked if you are allergic to latex.
What can I take for pain after a sonohysterogram?
Most doctors advise taking anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, to relieve discomfort. You may experience a pelvic tissue infection after a sonohysterogram. Symptoms of this condition can include fever, pain, and unusual discharge from the vagina.
