Wat betekent politiek correct zijn?
Politiekcorrect – (Eng. politically correct), de neiging om in taalgebruik en optreden angstvallig iedere zweem van discriminatie te vermijden, vnl. inzake onderwerpen als ras, geslacht en seksualiteit. Vaak gebeurt dit onder pressie van belangengroepen, maar soms ook vrijwillig, om zo een goede indruk te maken.

iemand die zeer politiek correct is en daarmee te koop loopt; iemand die erg graag politiek wil deugen; politiek correct persoon.
Wat is politiek correct denken?
Politieke correctheid (soms afgekort tot policor of pc) is het vermijden van bepaalde taaluitingen of gedragingen die als beledigend of discriminerend kunnen worden beschouwd voor met name minderheden. Het is ook de kwalificatie van beleidsmaatregelen die een dergelijke vermijding stimuleren.
