Hoe is GHB uitgevonden?
GHB is in 1960 geïsoleerd uit het weefsels van zoogdieren door de Franse onderzoeker Laborit. Laborit zocht naar een stof die een vergelijkbare werking heeft als de neurotransmitter** GABA. GABA zorgt ervoor dat de hersenen langzamer werken. Nadat GHB geïsoleerd was kon het ook chemisch nagemaakt worden.
Waar vind je GHB?
GHB wordt in het uitgaansleven, maar ook thuis gebruikt. Bijvoorbeeld bij seks. GHB is geen vloeibare XTC, al wordt het soms wel als vloeibare XTC verkocht. Daarnaast wordt er soms GHB verkocht, waar (nog) GBL in zit.
Wat voor kleur heeft GHB?
GHB is een kleur- en geurloze vloeistof met een lichte zoutsmaak. GHB werkt verdovend. Bij een lage dosis raak je in een roes, die vergelijkbaar is met dronkenschap. GBL is de basisgrondstof waarmee GHB gemaakt wordt.
Kan je GHB in bloed vinden?
GHB wordt razendsnel afgebroken in het lichaam. De afbraakstoffen zijn niet aantoonbaar in bloed of urine. Zelfs na hoge doseringen is het na 8 uur in bloed en na 12 uur in urine niet meer aan te tonen.
