Wat is een jacquard patroon?
Jacquardbreiwerk is een vorm van breien (textiel) met verschillende kleuren, waarbij zich aan de achterzijde van het breiwerk lange draden bevinden. De techniek wordt ook wel inbreien genoemd.
Welke wol voor Fair Isle breien?
Fair Isle breiwerk maak je het beste met een wollen gekaard garen. In een eerder blog over Shetland-garen hebben we al eens uitgelegd hoe dat precies zit. Vooral belangrijk is dat het garen niet ‘glibberig’ is, waardoor de steken instabiel worden. Verder brei je Fair Isle breiwerk het liefst in het rond.
Wat zijn jacquard stoffen?
Jacquard stof is een stof die gemaakt wordt op een speciaal jacquardgetouw. Een jacquardgetouw is een weefmachine die bestaat uit een of meer jacquard mechanisme. Een weefsel bestaat uit kettingdraden en inslagdraden, in verschillende kleuren.
Hoe moet je jacquard breien?
Jacquard breien zonder lussen aan de achterkant. De draad wordt namelijk om de andere steek “gehecht”. Tijdens het breien houden we de meelopende draad steeds om de linker wijsvinger. De draden worden niet om elkaar gedraaid, dus we hebben geen problemen met de bolletjes die in de war gaan!
