Welke medicatie tegen urinezuur?
Allopurinol voorkomt dat het lichaam purine verandert in urinezuur. Purine komt voor in bepaalde voedingsmiddelen, maar het lichaam maakt het ook zelf aan. Hierdoor verlaagt allopurinol de hoeveelheid urinezuur in het bloed. Artsen schrijven allopurinol voor bij jicht, nierstenen, nierziekten en bij kanker.
