Wat is een arousal?
Engels woord met de betekenis ‘lichamelijke opwinding’. In de psychologie wordt het meestal gebruikt om de lichamelijke effecten te beschrijven die veroorzaakt worden door het sympathische zenuwstelsel wanneer dit gevaar constateert.
Wat is aspecifieke arousal?
Binnen de fysiotherapie zijn we ondertussen bekend met de term aspecifieke ‘arousal’, een term geleend uit de psychofysiologie. Omdat arousal nogal een ‘fuzzy’ concept is, zowel talig als psychologisch, is er ruimte om de ervaren arousal zowel positief als negatief te interpreteren.
