Welke boompjes kunnen tegen wind?
Bomen met harde bladeren en grijsbladige bomen doen het goed aan de kust. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan Hippophae en Elaeagnus maar ook de ratelpopulier kan aan de kust goed groeien. Veel lindes zijn ook bestand tegen zeewind maar deze vragen wel iets meer van de bodem.

Most bamboos are woodland plants, preferring dappled shade, moist soils, plenty of rain and shelter from drying winds. Windblasting them isn’t the favourite condition for any of them but some put up with it better than others because like chusa gigantea they come from more open habitat.

Re: Wind resistant Bamboo? I would recommend Chusquea gigantea as a good one for a windy spot. Chusquea gigantia has solid culms, unlike other bamboos which are hollow inside. Ergo, they are tough enough for a windy site. C.gigantea stands firm in my garden during gales, while the rest of my ‘boos thrash all over the place!
