Wat is een PEA reanimatie?
Bij een polsloze elektrische activiteit, afgekort als PEA is er wel elektrische activiteit in het hart (meestal een sinusritme), maar is het hart niet in staat om bloed rond te pompen. Er is dus effectief gezien een circulatiestilstand waarvoor reanimatie noodzakelijk is.
Wat doet adrenaline tijdens reanimatie?
Tevens is adrenaline verkrijgbaar in de vorm van de EpiPen voor gebruik bij een anafylactische shock. In het lichaam zorgt adrenaline voor verhoging van de bloeddruk, versnelling van de hartslag en verhoging van de alertheid. Het hormoon is ook wel betrokken bij de zogenaamde ‘Flight of fight’ reflex.
