Het vaccin dat in de winter 2021/2022 wordt gebruikt is een quadrivalent vaccin dat beschermt tegen het griepvirus A en B. De samenstelling bestaat uit vier influenzavirussen: A/Victoria/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-achtig virus. A/Cambodia/e0826360/2020 (H3N2)-achtig virus.
Wat doet griep met je lichaam?
Het influenzavirus veroorzaakt een infectie van de luchtwegen, de neus, keel en longen. Het virus wordt geïnhaleerd of overgebracht naar de slijmvliezen van de mond, neus of ogen. Vervolgens reist het langs de luchtwegen verder door het lichaam en nestelt het zich via specifieke moleculen op het celoppervlak.
