Welke PFAS in blusschuim?
Deze stoffen bleken toxisch te zijn en daarom inmiddels verboden. De C8-fluorverbindingen PFOS en PFOA komen niet meer voor in nieuw blusschuim. Er geldt echter ook een gebruiksverbod voor eindgebruikers; oude voorraden C8-bevattend blusschuim mogen dus niet meer gebruikt worden.
Wat zit er in blusschuim?
Blusschuim is een mengsel van water, schuimvormend middel (svm) en omgevingslucht. Blusschuim wordt verkregen door water en svm in een schuimmenger te mengen (de z.g. premix) en dit in een schuimmaker door toevoeging van lucht of gas te laten expanderen.
